Primark Makeup Review

Primark Makeup
The Good & The Bad...

Primark makeup has taken the  blogging world by storm lately and everyone seems to be talking about whether Primark makeup is ‘worth it or not’ so here I am giving you a super honest review as always on what I think is worth splashing out on or not.. although Primark makeup is cheap as chips so if it was shite it wouldn’t leave you skint for a month. I couldn’t get my hands on any palettes so there’s a lot of lip products, the odd face product and a couple of eye products and I also don’t have all the prices! Lost the receipt didn’t I..

Berry Beam Tinted Lip Balm - £1.50

The only thing that made me pick this up was the fact it said shea butter on the front of it – I love anything shea butter so I was already sold. This is just your average lip balm but gives a bit extra as it’s tinted but also moisturises your lips at the same time. I’ve had it on recently when I’ve got a full face of makeup on just to give my lips a bit of colour as sometimes lipsticks can be quite drying. It also tastes amazing which is a bonus. For £1.50 you can’t really go wrong!

Would I buy again – Yes, it’s good to keep in my bag and it leaves my lips feeling moisturised

Chocolate Lip Kit- £3.00

This chocolate Creme Caramel lip kit gives me all the Too Faced vibes mainly because of the chocolate theme. Inside the lip kit you get a molten gloss and a lip liner – I do love a nude lip. The gloss tastes and smells very strongly of chocolate which I personally don’t like but I love the colour. The gloss has a soft sponge tip to apply onto the lips which isn’t to everyone’s taste but it does the job. It applies easily onto the lips because the gloss is so soft, it doesn’t last ages on the lips however it’s nice to just throw on if you’re aware that it won’t last all day. I do love a lip liner I’m always after the Kylie Jenner look (although not too big!) and I much prefer the lip liner in this kit than the gloss. I like to overline my lips with this and the colour is perfect however I wasn’t blown away.

Would I buy again – No I don’t think it’s worth buying again. It didn’t blow me away enough but can’t go wrong for the price if you just want a normal chocolate gloss.

Super Matte Liquid Lipstick - Kourtney

This Super Matte Liquid Lipstick is one of the best finds out of all of these products. I love a pink lip and I don’t mind a matte lip either. Bare in mind this lipstick is quite drying but I don’t mind the matte look mainly because I love the colour and it lasts a while on the lips. I also love the packaging – it’s sleek and small.. very easy to throw in your bag.

Would I buy again – Yes 100%!

Insta Girl Diamond Lip Topper

Primark’s ‘Insta Girl’ range is all about being ready for Instagram and being glam which I’m all for. You guys know I do love the gram! I love wearing this lip gloss over lipstick just to add a touch of shimmer or I wear it alone. It’s got a watermelon taste to it so it’s quite refreshing and the bits of shimmer catch the light.

Would I buy again – Yes but I wouldn’t rush out to get it if I ran out

Get Lippy Matte Collection - Girls World

There was rumours about these lip kits being a dupe for the Kylie Jenner ones and as I’m definitely not paying the ridiculous prices for them, Primark ones will have to do! I was really disappointed with this lip kit because the lip liner snapped when I went to use it.. yup this actually happened! Safe to say it’s in the bin now and won’t be returning anytime soon. The liquid lipstick is a deep purple shade but it’s too dark for me I looked like a clown! However, it isn’t drying at all and applied really nicely onto the lips so if you like really dark lip shades you might want to try this but be prepared for the liner to snap!

Would I buy again – No

Metallic Eye Collection - Naked Ambition £3.00

I only managed to pick up two eye products and one of them was a Metallic Eye Collection set. I think the ‘Nude’ collection is meant to be inspired by Kim Kardashian’s makeup range – Kim has the sponges in her range and I remember seeing these in Primark too but I didn’t pick one up. Within this set is an eye liner pencil, Metallic eye shadow and a precision applicator. I personally don’t use brushes like this to apply eyeshadow, I just use my finger to apply. I really like the eyeshadow and the pencil together. The colours suit really well and they’re both the type of colours I’d wear on a day to day basis. They’re gold, shimmery and just the perfect everyday shade. For £3 you can’t complain! (swatches below)

Would I buy again – Yes

Matte Eye Cream 'Viva Las Vegas' - £2.00

The matte eye creams really stood out to me as an interesting concept. I love the idea of just having a little pot of eye shadow which is easy to throw on. I’m not too sure on the colour of this one as it’s quite a dull colour and not really up my street. I wish there was nicer shades in the range but from what I saw when I was there, there wasn’t much choice. I’d love it if they did shimmery ones rather than matte.

Would I buy again – No

Double Dimension Highlighter Powder

You all know how much I love a highlighter and I’m all for a blush that gives a slight glow too – this is exactly that! It’s not too much, it’s just the perfect amount of glow whilst still looking natural. There’s no shade name on it unfortunately so maybe there’s just one standard shade but I’m so happy with this product. You can use it on the tops of your cheekbones, collarbones, cheeks…wherever you want that glow.

Would I buy again – Yes

Nude Bronzing Stick

The bronzing stick is a bit of a hit or miss product. Some will find this too glittery and over the top whilst others will love it. If you only use a small amount it can look nice but if you go overboard it just looks like you’ve covered your face in glitter which might not be the look you’re going for! Each to their own. It comes with a sponge on the end (I can’t really get my head around why).. are you meant to blend it in with it?! I haven’t used it at all I just use my own makeup brushes. I do like using this stick but I wouldn’t rush out to buy it again, I could easily live without it!

Would I buy again – No

I hope this narrows it down on what’s worth buying or not. If you do end up trying any of these products let me know your favourites!

I haven’t tried Primark makeup for such a long time but keep hearing such amazing things about it. I would really like to try the Highlighter Powder, it looks really pretty. x

Such beautiful photography, Beth! I adore this blog post so much. I love Primark Makeup, I think that it’s super affordable and not bad quality for the small price tag. I didn’t get along with an eyeshadow palette I bought once, but I love one of their bronzers. Like you say, it’s just hit or miss!

I’ve never bothered taking any notice of Primark’s makeup range to be honest, but I hear more and more people talking about it all the time!
I’m getting quite tempted to try a couple of things now though, it all seems so affordable!
