My Mac Lipstick Collection

Isn't there something really satisfying about a row of lipsticks - just me? I was contemplating whether or not actually calling this post a collection because I will admit, it's not exactly a collection. I don't really splash out on Mac lipsticks all that much unless I'm in the spending mood or I'm near a Mac store which is practically impossible these days because there isn't one near me, but saying that, the Mac lipsticks that I do own, I absolutely adore. There's just something about the neat black packaging that is pleasing to the eye. Is it bad that I even love the smell?!

The four I currently own in my collection are Velvet Teddy, Ruby Woo, Creme Cup and Modesty. You might notice I go for more neutral colours rather than a bold bright lip, but I do love a statement lip when I'm feeling a bit brave.

Ruby Woo | (Retro Matte)
Ruby Woo is such a beaut I can't even express how much I love this lipstick. I believe that red lippy transforms your makeup look from looking dull to glamorous in an instant. Every woman really does need to own Ruby Woo in their collection. A massive plus is that it's matte which means it'll be there for hours whether you apply it on the go, or perfectly in the mirror - either way it ain't going nowhere!

Creme Cup | Cremesheen)
Creme Cup was the first Mac lipstick I ever bought and I can see exactly why I was drawn to it so much. It's a very me lipstick shade. I'm dreading the day I finish this lipstick because there is literally the smallest amount left - sad times! Creme Cup is great if you love pinky nudes because it's in no way bright at all. It's very natural looking but you can build it up to be more vibrant.

Modesty | (Cremesheen)
Modesty is a muted pink lipstick and if you find quite light nude lipsticks don't really suit you, this might be one for you. It's on the pink side of neutral lipsticks which I think would suit more skin tones and be much more wearable. Cremesheen lipsticks in general are all super moisturising and creamy so this is an all rounder.

Velvet Teddy | (Matte)
I'm sure you're all rolling your eyes with this one due to the amount of reviews on the 'Kylie' pout featuring this lipstick. I have to admit, it isn't my favourite. I was quite disappointed. I think I hyped it up so much that when I tried it I was sort of thinking to myself ''is that it?''. I was expecting more than I got. Don't get me wrong, it is a nice lipstick, but it's one I don't find myself reaching for that often. I just find it drowns me out as it's quite brown and ruins my makeup look if I'm having a light makeup look day. I much prefer light, pretty lipsticks and I don't think this is the right one for me.

On a slightly different note, if you are a bit unsure about a Mac lipstick before you buy it, why not ask one of the lovely ladies in there for a quick try? The staff in Mac are babes at that and it's worth having a proper try before having to splash out the cash.
